In 1998, Panda merged with Azizia and Al Azizia Panda United Company formed the largest share of the retail market in Saudi Arabia.
In 1999, Al Azizia Panda United joined the Savola Group, one of the largest food companies in the Middle East
In 2008 and 2009, Savola Group acquired all the major stores and assets of the Gian markets in the Kingdom and merged them into Al Azizia Panda United Company, increasing its share to about 8% of the retail market in the Kingdom.
In November 2014, the company’s brand name was changed from Al Azizia Panda United to Panda Retail.
Panda Retail currently has a market chain of more than 470 branches for its various markets including Panda, Hyperbende and Banditi, making it the largest retail company in the Middle
